  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star-grounding configuration and avoid routing digital signals near the analog signals.

  • Calibration involves shorting the input pins and measuring the resulting impedance. Then, open-circuit the input pins and measure the impedance again. Use these two measurements to calculate the calibration coefficients. Refer to the datasheet for the calibration procedure.

  • The AD5933YRSZ can operate up to 100 kHz. However, the maximum frequency range depends on the impedance being measured. For accurate measurements, the frequency range should be limited to 10 kHz to 50 kHz, depending on the impedance range.

  • Use a temperature sensor to monitor the temperature and compensate for the drift. The AD5933YRSZ has a built-in temperature sensor, or an external temperature sensor can be used. Apply temperature correction coefficients to the impedance measurements to ensure accuracy over the desired temperature range.

  • Use a low-ESR capacitor (e.g., 10 μF) and a high-frequency capacitor (e.g., 100 nF) in parallel to decouple the power supply. Add a ferrite bead or a pi-filter to filter out high-frequency noise. Ensure the power supply is well-regulated and has a low noise floor.
