All three ICs are available in automotive grade versions, qualified in AEC-Q100 Grade 1. The board layout is optimized for improved conducted EMI performance. The power inductor in the pre-boost stage is utilized as an input EMI filter, and thus no additional filter components are required. The board is tested under the automotive EMC standard, CISPR 25, and its conducted emissions are in compliance with the CISPR 25 Class 5 requirements.

    TIDA-00231: TIDA-00231 is a reference design for an industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) analog output module. The design provides a unique power saving solution for a digital-to-analog converter (DAC)-based analog current output module with an adaptive power supply. This adaptive power supply dynamically regulates the AVDD supply of the DAC and limits power losses to < 50mW for typical load resistance of > 300Ω. The analog output can source current up to 24mA. This reference design includes the necessary on-board protection circuit and has been tested to IEC61000-4 standard EFT, ESD, and surge requirements with IO Controller platforms.   • CISPR 25 Class 5 Rated Multi-Output Power Supply with Pre-Boost for Automotive Cluster Unit
    PMP9477.1: The PMP9477 design is a conducted EMI optimized multi-output power supply for automotive cluster units. The power supply has a pre-boost stage for cold crank and start-stop operation and two buck regulators. The pre-boost stage features the LM3481 boost controller and will start to operate and regulate a 9.5V output when the input voltage drops below 9.5V. It makes the design a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 38V suitable for 12V automotive battery systems. The design has two buck regulators following the pre-boost to generate 3 output voltages: the first stage buck generates a 5V, 2A output using the LM26003, and the second stage generates two outputs of 2.8V, 2A and 1.8V, 2A using the LM26420 (the max output power is 15W). The LM26003 is a wide Vin non-synchronous buck regulator, and the LM26420 is a 5V input dual 2A, high frequency synchronous buck regulator. All three ICs are available in automotive grade versions, qualified in AEC-Q100 Grade 1. The board layout is optimized for improved conducted EMI performance. The power inductor in the pre-boost stage is utilized as an input EMI filter, and thus no additional filter components are required. The board is tested under the automotive EMC standard, CISPR 25, and its conducted emissions are in compliance with the CISPR 25 Class 5 requirements.

    PMP10531.3: The PMP10531.3 reference design is an 8-output isolated Fly-Buck power supply for IGBT gate driver in motor drive or high voltage inverter applications. Each set of positive/negative rails is generated from one single transformer windings using voltage split circuit. A compact solution size is achieved (62x55mm). This reference design is a continuous conduction mode boost converter implemented using UCC28180 PFC controller and with all the necessary protections built-in. The design supports a wide AC input range from 195 VAC to 270 VAC and offers very high efficiency of >97%, over wide operating loads from 50% to 100%. The boost follower configuration utilized in TIDA-00443 aids in reducing switching losses in the PFC regulator as well as in downstream inverter/converter. This reference design delivers an efficiency of ~98%, in boost follower configuration. In comparison to fixed voltage operation, this boost follower configuration saves an additional power of 5.2 W at 230 VAC and full load. TIDA-00443 has been designed to meet the IEC-61000-2-3 iTHD limits of both Class A and Class D norms. In addition the design improves overall system performance with lower bus ripple, lower bus capacitance, lower RMS currents, and built-in front end protections.
