  • Automotive LED headlight driver module for halogen replacement reference design
    This reference design showcases the TPS92682 and the TPS92520 as a fully self functional three-channel LED driver for headlight applications.  The design is intended to be a low-cost halogen headlight module replacement compatible with an automotive body control module.  The three LED channels drive highbeam/lowbeam: turn indicator and daytime running light: and position marker light.  The design uses one TPS92682 dual channel controller as a constant voltage boost and a constant current SEPIC.  It also uses one TPS92520 supplied by the boost for two synchronous rectified constant current buck converters. The board is designed with ground strip to allow enclosing the power stages for EMI compliance which includes CISPR 25 Class 5 conducted test results.
  • 100-240VAC Input: 60W: 2-string: PWM Dimmable LED Driver Reference Design
    PMP6024 is an offline: LED driver circuit consisting of an isolated: power-factor corrected: constant output voltage flyback converter followed by two DC/DC buck LED current controllers.  It is suitable for indoor or outdoor area lighting applications of 3500-5000 lumens (depending upon LED selection).  LED brightness is controlled by a 3.3V: 10kHz PWM signal which is converted to a DC level adjustment of the LED string currents avoiding PWM modulation of the light output.
  • 120W dual-stage matrix compatible automotive headlight ECU reference design
    This reference design details a headlight ECU using an interleaved boost in voltage regulation mode feeding four synchronous buck channels. This design is also capable of matrix headlight control and is mounted to a heatsink and enclosure to emulate an automotive headlight ECU. The TPS92682-Q1 is setup as a two phase interleaved boost controller set in voltage regulation mode capable of 130W output power. The boost output drives two TPS92520-Q1 dual channel synchronous buck drivers for a total of four buck channels at 120W total output. The design is mounted to a heatsink and enclosed to emulate an automotive headlight ECU. A MSP432 processor controls the TPS92682-Q1 and the two TPS92520-Q1 devices by the SPI interface. The MSP432 communicates to the master via CAN and also communicates to the lighting matrix module using UART communications via a CAN transceiver. Several bench-test results are available for this design including efficiency data: thermal measurements: pixel-controlled load data: and EMC measurements according to the CISPR 25 Class 5 conducted specification.
