  • The maximum voltage that can be applied to the VM pin is 45V, but it's recommended to keep it below 40V for reliable operation.

  • The value of the current sense resistors (R Sense) depends on the maximum current you want to sense. A good starting point is to use a value between 0.1 ohm and 1 ohm. You can use the formula: R Sense = (VREF / 2) / Imax, where VREF is the reference voltage (typically 2.5V) and Imax is the maximum current you want to sense.

  • The ENN pin is an active-low enable input that allows you to enable or disable the L6472PD. When ENN is low, the device is enabled, and when ENN is high, the device is disabled. You can use this pin to shut down the device when not in use to reduce power consumption.

  • To configure the L6472PD for microstepping mode, you need to set the M0, M1, and M2 pins accordingly. For example, for 16 microsteps, set M0=0, M1=1, and M2=0. You can refer to the datasheet for the complete truth table for microstepping mode.

  • The maximum frequency of the STEP input signal is 250 kHz. However, the actual frequency limit may be lower depending on the specific application and the motor being driven.
