  • The LTC4365 can handle surge currents up to 100A for 1ms, but it's recommended to limit the surge current to 50A for 1ms to ensure reliable operation.

  • The sense resistor value depends on the maximum current you expect in your application. A good starting point is to choose a sense resistor that sets the current sense voltage to around 50mV at the maximum expected current. You can use the formula Rsense = 0.05V / Imax to calculate the sense resistor value.

  • The EN (enable) pin is used to turn the LTC4365 on and off. When EN is high, the device is enabled, and when EN is low, the device is disabled. You can use the EN pin to implement power sequencing or to shut down the device when not in use.

  • The LTC4365 has an internal overvoltage protection (OVP) circuit that turns off the device when the input voltage exceeds 60V. However, it's recommended to add external OVP circuitry to protect the device from high-voltage transients. You can use a voltage clamp or a zener diode to limit the input voltage to a safe level.

  • To ensure reliable operation, it's recommended to follow a good layout and placement strategy for the LTC4365. Keep the sense lines short and away from noise sources, place the device close to the power source, and use a solid ground plane to reduce noise and EMI.
