  • The maximum sampling rate of the MCP3008 is 200 ksps (kilosamples per second).

  • Yes, the MCP3008 is compatible with 5V microcontrollers, but it's recommended to use a level shifter or voltage divider to ensure the analog input voltage does not exceed the VDD supply voltage (2.7V to 5.5V).

  • Channel selection and conversion on the MCP3008 are controlled using the Chip Select (CS), Clock (CLK), and Data In (DIN) pins. The CS pin selects the device, CLK clocks in the data, and DIN sends the data to the microcontroller.

  • The VREF pin on the MCP3008 is used to set the analog reference voltage for the ADC. It can be connected to an external voltage reference or to the VDD supply voltage.

  • The analog input voltage range for the MCP3008 is determined by the VREF voltage. The input voltage range is 0 to VREF, where VREF is the voltage applied to the VREF pin.
