The recommended power-up sequence is to apply power to the module, then wait for at least 100ms before sending any commands or data. This allows the module to complete its internal initialization.
The NEO-6M-0-001 has an internal antenna, but you can use an external antenna by connecting it to the ANT pin. You'll need to configure the module to use the external antenna by sending the appropriate command (e.g. $PUBX,40,ANT,1,1,0,0,0,0*29) using the UBX protocol.
The maximum update rate of the NEO-6M-0-001 is 10 Hz, but this can be adjusted using the UBX protocol. For example, you can set the update rate to 5 Hz by sending the command $PUBX,00,101,5,0,0,0,0,0*29.
You can enable or disable WAAS/EGNOS by sending the appropriate command using the UBX protocol. For example, to enable WAAS, send the command $PUBX,00,101,1,1,0,0,0,0*29, and to disable it, send $PUBX,00,101,1,0,0,0,0,0*29.
The typical current consumption of the NEO-6M-0-001 is around 50-60 mA, but this can vary depending on the operating mode and the presence of an external antenna.
