  • A good PCB layout is crucial for the PFS7526H. Ensure a solid ground plane, keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use a separate ground plane for the high-current paths. Refer to the Power Integrations application note AN-63 for more details.

  • Select a transformer with a suitable turns ratio, core material, and wire size. Consider the output power, input voltage, and desired output voltage. Power Integrations provides a transformer selection guide in their application note AN-55.

  • The PFS7526H can tolerate up to 10% input voltage ripple. Exceeding this may affect the IC's performance and reliability. Ensure a stable input voltage or add input filtering if necessary.

  • Connect a voltage divider network to the OVP pin (pin 5). The divider should be designed to trigger the OVP threshold (typically 1.5V) when the output voltage exceeds the desired maximum value. Refer to the datasheet for more information.

  • Ensure good airflow around the IC, and consider using a heat sink if the device will operate at high temperatures or with high power dissipation. The PFS7526H has a thermal shutdown feature that activates at 150°C (TJ).
