The PI3302-00-LGIZ requires a well-designed PCB layout with adequate thermal management to ensure optimal performance. Vicor recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A thermal interface material (TIM) should be used between the module and the heat sink.
To ensure reliable start-up and shutdown, Vicor recommends a soft-start circuit to limit inrush current, and a shutdown circuit to prevent voltage spikes. Additionally, a input undervoltage lockout (UVLO) circuit can be used to prevent the module from operating outside of its specified input voltage range.
