BM67421FV-CE2 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • ROHM recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane or a dedicated heat sink.

  • To ensure stable operation with a single-supply voltage, it's essential to decouple the power supply with a 10uF capacitor and a 100nF capacitor in parallel, placed as close to the device as possible. Additionally, a 1uF capacitor should be connected between the VCC and GND pins.

  • The maximum allowed voltage on the input pins is VCC + 0.3V. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage to the device. It's recommended to use input voltage limiting resistors or diodes to prevent overvoltage conditions.

  • ROHM recommends using ESD protection devices, such as TVS diodes or ESD protection ICs, on the input and output pins to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge. The device itself has some ESD protection built-in, but additional protection is recommended for high-reliability applications.

  • The recommended operating temperature range for the BM67421FV-CE2 is -40°C to +125°C. However, the device can operate up to +150°C for short periods during soldering or other manufacturing processes.
