  • A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias under the device can help to dissipate heat efficiently. TI recommends a minimum of 2 oz copper thickness and a thermal pad size of at least 100 mm².

  • Monitor the input voltage, output voltage, and output current to ensure they are within the recommended operating conditions specified in the datasheet. Also, ensure the device is properly decoupled and bypassed to minimize noise and ripple.

  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10-22 μF is recommended for input decoupling. The capacitor should be placed as close to the device as possible to minimize inductance.

  • The output voltage ripple and noise can be calculated using the equations provided in the datasheet. The output voltage ripple is typically around 1-2% of the output voltage, and the noise is typically around 1-10 mV.

  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10-47 μF is recommended for output filtering. The capacitor should be placed as close to the output pin as possible to minimize inductance.
