THVD8000DDFR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a 10nF capacitor between VCC and GND for decoupling.

  • Use shielded twisted-pair cables, and ensure the shield is connected to the GND pin on the THVD8000DDFR. Keep the cable length as short as possible, and use repeaters or amplifiers if necessary. Also, ensure the signal is properly terminated at the receiver end.

  • The maximum cable length depends on the data rate and cable quality. As a general guideline, the THVD8000DDFR supports up to 100 meters at 100 Mbps, 50 meters at 1 Gbps, and 20 meters at 2.5 Gbps.

  • The THVD8000DDFR is a full-duplex device by default. To configure it for half-duplex operation, connect the TXEN pin to the RXEN pin, and ensure the TXEN pin is driven low when transmitting and high when receiving.

  • The power consumption of the THVD8000DDFR depends on the data rate and operating mode. Typically, it consumes around 150mA at 100 Mbps, 250mA at 1 Gbps, and 400mA at 2.5 Gbps.
