A good PCB layout is crucial for optimal performance. STMicroelectronics recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and the IC should be placed near the center of the board. Decoupling capacitors should be placed close to the IC, and the analog and digital grounds should be separated.
To ensure EMC, follow proper PCB design guidelines, use a metal shield around the IC, and ensure good grounding. Additionally, use a common-mode choke or ferrite bead to filter out high-frequency noise on the power supply lines.
The recommended power-up sequence is to first apply the analog power supply (VDDA), followed by the digital power supply (VDDD). This ensures that the analog circuitry is powered up before the digital circuitry.
The internal clock oscillator has a start-up time of around 10ms. To handle this, use an external clock source or a clock oscillator with a faster start-up time. Alternatively, use a reset signal to synchronize the system with the oscillator's start-up time.
The AIS2120SXTR has a thermal pad on the bottom of the package. Ensure good thermal conductivity by using a thermal interface material (TIM) and a heat sink. Keep the ambient temperature below 85°C to prevent overheating.
