  • The maximum sampling rate of the ADS1118 is 860 samples per second (SPS) for a single channel, and 240 SPS for multiple channels.

  • The gain settings on the ADS1118 can be configured using the PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier) bits in the Config Register. The gain can be set to 2/3, 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16.

  • The DRDY (Data Ready) pin is an output pin that goes low when a conversion is complete and the data is ready to be read. It can be used to interrupt the microcontroller to read the data.

  • To handle noise and interference on the ADS1118, use a low-pass filter on the analog input, use a shielded cable, and keep the analog input traces away from digital traces on the PCB.

  • The power consumption of the ADS1118 is typically 360 μA at 3.3V supply voltage, and 240 μA at 2.7V supply voltage.
