  • The maximum output current of the MCP4728 is 25mA per channel.

  • The gain of the MCP4728 is configured through the Gain Register (Address 0x04). The gain can be set to 1, 2, or 4.

  • The VREF pin is used to set the reference voltage for the DAC. It can be connected to an external voltage reference or to the internal 2.048V reference voltage.

  • The DAC output voltage can be updated by writing to the DAC Register (Address 0x00) with the desired output voltage value.

  • The MCP4728 has a power-on reset feature that resets the device to its default state when power is applied. The DAC output is set to 0V and the gain is set to 1.
