  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output capacitors close to the device, and use short, wide traces for the power lines.

  • Ensure the output capacitor has a low ESR, and the input capacitor has a high capacitance. Also, add a small resistor (e.g., 1 ohm) in series with the output capacitor to dampen oscillations.

  • The maximum input voltage is 18V, but it's recommended to keep it below 15V for optimal performance and reliability.

  • The device is rated for operation up to 125°C, but thermal derating applies above 85°C. Ensure proper heat sinking and thermal management to maintain reliability.

  • Use the formula: ΔVout = (Iout * ESL) / (Cout * fsw), where ESL is the equivalent series inductance of the output capacitor, Cout is the output capacitance, and fsw is the switching frequency.
