USB Type-C™ and USB PD DRP Reference Design with HDMI Output
The PMP40154 is a true USB Type-C™ and USB PD DRP reference design. The reference design supports USB Type-C™ input to HDMI output display. It implements the USB PD controller and power switch TPS65986: and the alternate mode MUX HD3SS460. It is fully compatible with all of the standard USB Type-C™ products: and backward compatible with legacy devices and adaptors. The design includes some IEC ESD devices TPD8S300: TPD4E02B04 etc. They isolate the system from the high voltage condition present on the connector.

USB Type-C® to DisplayPort active cable reference design
The USB-C™ to DisplayPort Active Cable reference design is a framework that can enable DisplayPort video signaling over a USB-C connection. Traditionally: DisplayPort connectors are the only way to transfer DisplayPort video but this connector can be large and are not ideal for small electronics. While a smaller USB Type-C connector allows DisplayPort video to transfer from smaller electronics: these cables are shorter: ranging from 1 – 2 meters in length. This design features DisplayPort video transfers over 5-meter cables with a single USB-C cable connection: enabling –DisplayPort communication between legacy DisplayPort sink to new USB-C source.
